Blended learning programme consisting of classroom training, webinars and e-learning. On this course, you will learn how to use project tools and processes that are necessary for successfully managing a project.

About the course

IPMA® Project Management Programme, part 1 contains all of the elements of PM1: Manage your project and PM2: Lead your project team. The course is completed by an online Project Excellence® Fundamentals exam.*

The course is designed as a blended learning programme consisting of regular classroom training, webinars, articles and e-learning. You will participate in the webinars from home to ensure flexibility whereas the classroom training sessions will take place with the other course participants to give you the opportunity to spar with your instructors and other project managers. At the same time, you will get access to articles and eight e-learning modules so that you can work with the theory at your own pace.

*The exam is not mandatory. You will still be able to continue the programme without it.

Main content

The course covers the following main topics:

  • Setting the project objectives (purpose, success criteria and deliverables)
  • Identifying and managing the stakeholders of the projec
  • Planning the project (milestones, phases and activities
  • Estimating resource requirements (time and costs)
  • Analysing and managing risks
  • Project economy, follow-up and reporting
  • Management styles – Which management styles are the most appropriate in different situations?
  • Personal preferences (Whole Brain® preference model)
  • Staging and conducting workshops, meetings and presentations
  • Feedback as a management and improvement tool
  • Ensuring a close collaboration with the steering committee


After the course, you will be able to:

  • Set clear and consistent objectives for your project while ensuring that the project team has a common understanding of the direction of the project
  • Plan and facilitate workshops in an engaging way, e.g. stakeholder or risk analysis workshops, and identify necessary actions in collaboration with the project team
  • Prepare milestone and activity plans, which the project team takes ownership of
  • Draw up a budget based on the project plan and your estimates
  • Form your project team and get the most out of the team. Organise your project to ensure a clear distribution of roles and responsibilities
  • Lead your project team and each individual participant well and based on the situation
  • Manage the project owner and/or steering committee in the best way possible

Target group:

You are on your way to becoming a project manager, or you are already a project manager. You may also be an experienced project manager and wish to become even better at what you do.

  • IPMA® and PMI R.E.P.

    As part of the training programme, you have the opportunity to become a certified project manager. You can become a project manager within the two recognised project management certifications, IPMA and PMI. Our project management programme will equip you for both.

    Our project management programme is IPMA registered. This means that Project Management modules 1-4 are built up around The International Competence Baseline, which is drawn up by the International Project Management Association (IPMA), and we are approved as a supplier by Dansk Projektledelse.

    By completing a project management module, you will obtain 20 PDUs (Professional Development Units). By completing all of Implement’s Project Management Programme, you will earn 80 PDUs.
