Project Management Programme, IPMA®

The course strengthens your understanding of the methods we use when working on projects, the fundamental planning and follow-up tools as well as your role as project manager. You will learn to create an overview, plan, organise and set up a budget for your project.

Project Management 1: Manage your project is part of Implement’s Project Management Programme.

The course covers the following main topics:

• Setting the project objectives (purpose, success criteria and deliverables)
• Mapping and managing project stakeholders
• Evaluating the project team’s work
• Planning the project (milestones, phases and activities)
• Estimating resource requirements (time and costs)
• Analysing and managing risks
• Project economy, follow-up and reporting

After completing the course, you will be able to:

• Set clear and consistent objectives for your project
• Conduct a stakeholder analysis and establish necessary initiative
• Prepare milestone plans and activity plans
• Conduct a risk analysis and define initiatives that are necessary to reduce risks
• Draw up a budget based on project plans and your estimates
• Organise your project and thereby ensure a clear distribution of roles and responsibilities
• Carry out evaluation and follow-up

The course is aimed at inexperienced as well as experienced project managers who would like to add more theory and structure to their existing competences.

The course focuses on strengthening your competences as facilitator and as project manager of a project team. You will be introduced to a number of methods, which you will have ample opportunity to put to use in a number of workshops. Subsequently, you will receive valuable feedback and inspiration for how to become a better project manager and how to ensure a successful process.

Project Management 2:Lead your project team is part of Implement’s Project Management Programme.

• Development of the project team – what should you be aware of and when?
• Management styles – which management styles are most appropriate in different situations?

• Staging and carrying out workshops, meetings and presentations

Project Management 3 – Succeed with your project is part of Implement’s Project Management Programme.

• Benefits realisation and managing the project to create value for the organisation
• Behaviour associated with projects and how to handle change processes
• Project conflicts upwards, downwards and outwards
• Follow-up concerning accuracy, progress, risks, economy, quality and impact
• Active use of the project’s business case
• Co-creation and implementation strategies
• Power and influence in the project’s decision-making processes and implementation phase

After the course you will be able to:

Project Management 4 – Strengthen your personal leadership in projects is part of Implement’s Project Management Programme.

The course covers some of the following topics:

• Developing followship in the project (how do you get people to join you?)
• Your strengths in the role as project manager and your personal development areas
• How to make use of your personal preferences for tasks such as organising, change, analysis and co-operation in projects
• Insight into stakeholders' fast reactions to change, and how to design your own behavior to enhance engagement
• How to conduct dialogues that get your project participants on board in the project and dialogues that help develop them further as the project progresses
• How to strengthen relations between the project and its surroundings
• Effective communication between you, your project participants and project stakeholders to avoid talking at cross-purposes
• ”Storytelling” as a means to strengthen project progress and commitment of the project team

After the course you will be able to:

The exam covers the topics and tools that you have learnt in Project Management 1-4. In addition to the exam certificate, you will receive a feedback report on your strengths and development areas relating to the 44 topics covered by the exam.

To take the exam, it is a prerequisite that you have completed Project Management 1-4.

The exam consists of 300 multiple choice questions based on the course material you have covered. The exam lasts 4.5 hours.

The exam is online and it is up to you when you wish to complete the exam within the dates indicated.

You will receive an exam certificate stating that you have passed the exam in Project Excellence Advanced. In addition, an overview of your strengths and development areas will be shown after the exam is completed. The overview will help you identify areas to focus on with the purpose of developing as a project manager.
