Intensive Project Management
Project Management training – Scoping and planning the project & managing and facilitating the work in the project team
You are already a project manager or you are about to become one.
This course will provide you with methods and tools for a wide range of project management aspects, including how to:
- Define and create ownership to the project’s objectives and plan in a dynamic world
- Map, prioritise and manage the project’s most important stakeholders
- Prioritise and manage risks proactively
- Organise your project
- Draw up a project contract
- Manage your project proactively
- Strengthen the common conception of the project task among a geographically dispersed team
- Focus on the many facets associated with the project manager’s role as a leader
- Utilise your own as well as your project participants’ personal preferences
- Understand and manage your team based on its development level
- Stage and facilitate the project group’s work
- Manage your project participants based on their individual situation
- Give and receive feedback
- Prepare, structure and conduct a presentation to the project’s steering committee
Course design
You will be testing the role as a project manager in practice, and in this connection you will be given feedback from your project team and the consultant.
The duration of the course is 2x3 consecutive days. The course is designed as a combination between applicationoriented theory, practical work on cases, feedback and reflection. Various course material and a number of supplementary articles will be handed out. The articles may be read after the course, if you want deeper and more nuanced background knowledge. Between the two course modules, you will be testing the tools on your own project or, alternatively, on another assignment of a project-related nature.

- Setting the objectives
- Stakeholder mapping and management
- Evaluation of team cooperation
- Milestone planning, estimation of effort
- Duration, costs and benefits, risk
- Management, organising the project
- Communication in the (virtual) team
- Effective work forms, project contract
- Active control of the project, Project Scorecard, the many roles of the project manager, personal preferences (Whole Brain®)
- Creativity, management in different situations, facilitation, presentation techniques, team dynamics
- Feedback and steering committee meetings.

Jørg has ten years of experience as a project manager within procurement and IT at an international level. He is specialised in strategic transformation projects in international organisations.Jørg has been an instructor of project management since 2007 and enjoys especially utilising the interaction with the participants. He is particularly passionate about scoping and planning the project and facilitating its processes within the team. A clear goal makes it easier for the organisation and the team to understand the necessity of the project and helps engage them in producing the deliverables in order to create effect and ensure benefits.
In addition, the course participant will notice that Jørg considers the transformation aspects of the project essential and keeps this area in focus throughout the entire project. He strongly believes that implementation and involvement of the organisation must be thought into the project’s entire life cycle and the subsequent operation.

Nicolai has 15 years of experience partly as a project manager of IT projects and partly as a PMO consultant responsible for the development and implementation of a project management model for 800 project managers. As a management consultant, he has primarily focused on training and coaching of project managers and other players in the project organisation as well as implementation and improvement of organisations’ ability to carry out projects in the right manner and carry out the right projects.Nicolai is passionate about making project managers use the already invented best practices and project management frameworks and stage them in the most optimal manner. The great challenge here is to obtain focus on and change the behaviour of the project organisations’ players.

Poul is a former CEO within the engineering industry and has many years of experience as a project manager within product development, quality management, business development and organisational change projects, including international projects.Poul has more than 10 years of experience as a project management instructor, and currently, he works intensively with portfolio management, management of research projects, project manager coaching and e-learning.
Poul is particularly passionate about visual planning, training and facilitation – especially within the field of project management. In addition, as a course participant you will notice that Poul considers implementation a focus area throughout the entire life of a project, starting from day one, rather than a final phase of a project process.
